Well, challenge accepted!
...I have to try ~REALLY~ hard to find the buzzing. Again, tested at Dau L11. Volume turned up louder than I normally have it anyways, so the test should be moot at that point.
Soundblaster hooked up to a 5.1 surround system.
So, yeah. Mainly a headphones problem, unless someone else can hear the buzz without headphones?

Better point, Why do signs in space make noise anyway?
Because realistic sounds in space games are dull. You wanna sit through Star Wars and argue physics?
I do so that. trust me I'm fun at party's.

it has nothing to do with hardware configuration its entirely because some of us get tired of hearing a quiet dzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz constantly.
There used to be a plugin that remedied this by making the station background camera orbit stations like in the login menu this makes sign buzzing much less annoying.

I was not attempting to discount the experience of headphone users, but to define the issue more clearly. We now seem to agree that headphone users experience an annoying hum, but we're not sure if those with speakers experience this. Defining the hardware could lead to an optimal resolution, perhaps an attenuation of frequencies, a toggle, omission of the sound, whatever.
Really it's never bothered me that much only after intense sessions of station idling my solution is usually logging off.
but yeah the stationspin plugin would pretty much entirely fix this, afaik it doesn't work anymore.

We'll try cutting the "distance" in half and see how that works for you guys. The peak volume will be the same, but the distance will be reduced to half and it'll ramp over that distance.
Most I can do right now.

Thanks Inc (btw, here is a video i made today for the buzzing in dau L-10. You need over the ear headphones and the volume turned all the way up to get the full experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi8Im2kqYks )
I usually play with headphones, but I can still hear the buzz without them. I don't feel that this is exclusive to headphone users.

Can we have the path to the sound file so those of us who just don't want it can replace it witha dead air file?
The files are all stored within the media.rlb file, so you cannot just replace them.
Perhaps some cantina music
+1 to Ores suggestion.
Fixed as of 1.8.432 this morning. Sign buzzing no longer plays when docked to stations.
