Can we have an option to turn off the sign buzz sound? It is highly annoying, and in fact causes some weird effect with my ears which makes everything sound tin y when i take off my head phones. I'm forced to play without sound to avoid this sound.

Yes, please. I never had this sound until a few days ago, but it is incredibly annoying.

+100 to that. My ears are damaged as it is, and having to mute everytime I go into a station ain't fun.

+1 to toggle - but dont just remove it either.

Could you guys be more specific with what locations (stations?) where this is bothering you?

The sign-buzz is pretty localized, but there is also a different background sound to being in the station in general, which might be the source of your complaint.

Also, if this really only started a few days ago, that might be indicative of a bug somewhere.

I've heard people complain about it before, but it just started being an issue for me a few days ago. I don't know if something has truly changed or if I suddenly became more susceptible to it. I know this sounds petty, and I'll try to put this as lightly as I can, but it is aggravating enough (for me) to cast a foul mood on my entire game experience for the night.

I'm pretty sure it's the sign buzz sound itself. As for being in the station, I assume it's possible to hear the sign buzz depending on your camera angle or some such?

It does sound like the sign buzz is louder lately. Or more intense. But it's definitely an annoying sound. Maybe change it to a low pitch hum.

+1 for a toggle option. I don't find it annoying, more immersive. But I can see the issue some pilots might have with it.

Barktooth's logic is the same as mine. Actually, I never even noticed it humming until this thread was brought up. I dont dislike it, but like my +1 earlier, a toggle for stuff like this for other pilots makes sense [to me].

I know this happens when you go into a certain docks. You undock and go in a different dock it's not as bad.

Whistler is just trying to help you guys get this fixed, by providing the information I explicitly requested some time ago.

Your answer is not helpful. If it's really so common, then a few examples should be easy. That way I can ticket specific testing cases for development.

Dau L11. the buzz isnt loud, not at all, but the camera angles when docked are usually placed near enough the sign buzz is noticeable. especially when the camera angles to inside the station's inner cylinder flyable area (or whatever you call that place?).

Granted, it's loudest when you are directly adjacent to the sign. But there are some stations, like Latos M-7 , where there are signs in the middle and you are inside the ring of docks and it's quite loud.

It's the signs. Every station.

Just change the frickin' sound from a crackle to a low hum. or give a toggle. Or tell me what frickin' file in my game folder to delete.

What happens is that when you dock and the camera goes to the station view, sometimes it lands right near a sign, and the sounds you hear in the station come from the camera location. Anybody who plays with headphones on can tell you that it happens in every station and that it can be greatly annoying.

If you delete all the .rlb files in your game folder the buzzing sound will stop... lol, dont do that.

But seriously, if it goes I will miss it, it is like the turbo sound all over again :(

The helpful info is that it seems to be all stations for headphone users. I have surveyed many stations and found nothing objectionable - but I was not using headphones.

Is there anyone who is NOT using headphones that is finding the sign buzz objectionable? If so, please specify your speakers and sound card.
