This is a simple request. Allow something like /gunner that allows a passenger to ride in a non-turret ship bit not have any control. They should, however, be able to see what the pilot sees.
This opens up training opportunies by allowing a more experienced player to demonstrate things to other players.
Another use is the ability of a player to see the death of a person they have placed a bounty on.
And finally, I promise not to make jokes about anyone sitting in my lap for 3 days after implementation.

I like this since it opens a new dynamic for player-economy. You can charge for rides to stations or to get out of Grey if you're homed there.
Newbs don't seem to believe me when I tell them to run to Odia H-6 in a centurian; home there; launch; shoot the guard once.

Newbs don't trust someone who shoots them? *gasps*

Mechanics could work just like being in a turret. No weight added would be crucial for it to be used as a pvp training tool.
This would, hands down, be one of the biggest steps in the direction of enhancing pvp training since I've been a player of VO.
We need more ways for vets and elite pvpers to train others. Combat is what makes VO, but at the moment there is no in-game way to actually SHOW a newb what kind of moves are effective in pvp combat. Other than pointing them in the direction of some rare Niki-flicks or Phaser-narratives.
We got +1s from FAMYs, ITANs, and PAs commanders. Kinda significant in the sense that they are, logically speaking, the ones that are most inclined to think about training their members in combat.
PLEASE DO THIS SOON!!!

+1 to onboard midgets
Hopefully 1.9 has this
You guys stop arguing about ship balance and throw crickets at this so we can see and demonstrate combat tactics and dispel a lot of the balance misconceptions around chasing and combat.
Crickets will commence shortly...
Bumping for developer comment on feasibility.
+1, I'm thinking this option would go a long way toward helping a variety of players in teaching them the finer points of controlling their ships. Definitely worth investing in.
There should be a limit to the number of passengers a ship can have. I would +1 this if it was limited to one passenger.
The intent is to limit it to a single passenger. This would allow you to:
1) Display combat tactics
2) Smuggle them into or out of grey
3) Allow them to witness the justice of their bounty on another player

Yeah, we badly need this. PvP training would be so much easier to do if I could actually show these people what I am trying to hint at. Some strategy just can't be put in words properly.
And even better if we promote mercenary role play & make it possible for vets to prevent uber-griefing by being able to move newbies who had their lesson out of grey.
