Multiple Gatlings would not be a problem if the energy consumption was increased. More than one gatling would consume copious amounts of energy and would therefore be infeasable.

Right now both cannons do the same damage, but the advanced cannon can actually hit stuff, and i feel it's energy consumption is high enough so we don't get quad Gatling people.

I'm for it..... but, do we want to see a Hornet with four of them? mmmm

I think we'd be better off creating a small port weapon with gatling like characteristics (an 'autocannon' or a 'flechette cannon'), and leaving the regular gatling as the 'economy' heavy weapon. Money won't always be as common as it is now. What are the future n00b Warthog pilots going to fight with if they don't have a cheap Large weapon?

The change I would like to see is make the regular gatling more energy efficient.

Celebrim: The regular gattling is pretty much useless on a large ship. It has 0 autoaim, so the lack of large maneuverability makes it impossible to use. You miss everything. However, on a centurion, it'd be perfect. Inaccurate, high ROF, medium energy usage, I love it!

SirCamps: Yes. You could have a quad-gattlign hornet. And you could fire 2 shots from it.
