Make sure all those Tunguska guys know that Ecka is a back-stabbing cannibal!
Hey, I resemble that remark!

Yes, I saw you on I AM ARG! the other day!
I love how everyone says faction standings should be more dynamic/important/usable/something then immediately turns around and "-1" any idea that adjusts how they work. The truth is they are fun to complain about but any "fix" for or against would come with major bitching.
Nobody would be complaining if the suggestion was faction standing loss for kills in monitored/guarded sectors. The problem with your stupid idea isn't resistance to fixing the faction system--it's resistance to butchering the unmonitored vs. monitored/guarded system.
i only like this idea if you get the faction hit if members of the convoy survive if the're in the sector whilst you commit the act.
Dont be rediculous ryetoc - this is not a faction system fix. The problems with the faction system don't have anything to do with greyspace where 99% of the time faction standing doesnt matter.
@TheRedSpy - This change would make it matter in grayspce You could not attack a corvus voy if you wanted to keep POS or admire, it hurt would your corvus standings. or a tung voy, it would hurt your tung standings. It would leave you no place to buy things to use to shoot at people. You would need to pick your targets more carefully.
You would instead limit yourself to targeting "good" voys and only when you knew that it wasn't going to wreck your faction so bad that you could never buy a cor vult again.
Attacking voys would then become something you do sometimes, but not all of them, and at times you would have to choose between letting a million credit voy slip past or attacking it and doing the work to rep your standings.
Of course there would need to be some kind of way to fix sub faction standings, but that is a different thread.

"This change would make it matter in grayspce"
Exactly! And that is why it is stupid. Greyspace is supposed to be consequence-free. That's the whole goddamned point of having Greyspace in the first place!

So everyone want's the faction system to be more meaningful as long as it retains it's lack of meaning?
Yes, that's exactly it. Because all of VO is Greyspace.
Idiot.
Idiot.
If you attack a tung voy in Serco space which faction do you loose?
Currently, none. If the OP suggested that you lose Tung faction, I'd probably support that change. However, there's room for a more nuanced system: maybe Serco won't report attacks on Tung but will report back to their buddies at BioCom.
That is what I am suggesting. If you attack a Tung voy you loose Tung standing. I think that should be true no matter where you attack the Tung voy. But any change meets resistance so I guess it's not likely to happen, but I personally think it would add a bit of complexity to the standings system and that's a start.
I think that should be true no matter where you attack the Tung voy.
Right, which is why you're a mouth-breathing idiot. Other than that, no concerns.
