Obviously, this has to happen... so, lets hear some ideas!
The Chicago area seems logical... here's the link Inc posted from the other thread:

Pardon my hermity social-n00biness, but what would we actually do at a vo-con? Besides mingle and eat, I mean. Because I am unfortunately that guy who, in a mingly situation, tends to wander off away from the crowd, sipping from a glass of water while idly devouring all the cheese cubes until the party's over and he can go home. And those would need to be some danged fine cheese cubes for me to go all the way out to Chicago to get them :P
Lets have it at my trailer park, everyone can have tents in the field.
My trailer park is kinda like vo, it's mostly empty, has potential but no money, 3 people run it.
However since I bought my own trailer I haven't had to wait 10 years for them to implement air conditioning *rimshot*

Aha, I can't travel to the USA at the moment, but I would like to buy a few people here beers one day.
I think a large group of VO running gaming terminals would be a necessary prerequisite to such an event.
LAN Party in the hotel next to the office like a bunch of nerds and have a huge furball w/20ms ping times?
We all bring paint ball guns and have a furball IRL

That damned watch list.
That damned watch list.
Or it might just be too expensive. Greyhound don't float on water.
Paintball or laser tag would be fun, yeah.

Lol, yes, you got me.. I'M EDWARD SNOWDEN. Incidentally we could do VO-Con at the airport in Moscow. I can get my fiancee Anna Chapman to come. It'll be fun!

Have a few simultaneously. One in NYC, one in Chicago, one in Sidny, Paris, etc spread around geographically. One dev per location. Just need a hotel with wifi and a conference/banquet room in each.
Or one big skype fest, everyone stays home.

Yep, Imo the main one should be in milwaukee for obvious reasons, and granted I'm not busy I'm definitely going to show up to one.
Sorry Nikster, sold both the XJSs when I moved to Hawaii. I have a nice Tacoma now, which seems to be the underpowered state truck of the locals...though I have to admit, it's a lot more practical for hauling dive gear.
Diving is one of the cooler experiences I've had in life, although I'm a relative newb... I've been on four or five Nitrox dives off the southern coast of Florida... saw some big sea turtles and an overgrown wreck (from above), healthy current, too. It made staying together... interesting.
Diving is great, though I miss the dark, cold, murky waters and numerous natural wrecks of NY/NJ. There are still some good things in Hawaii, though: going to hit the fishing vessel Friendship in 190' tomorrow morning for dive #1, then the cargo ship Sea Tiger in 120' for dive #2. Hopefully the double 100s + deco bottles will be enough gas for both, though bottomtime at 190' will have to be shortish.
Almost always a couple huge green sea turtles on the Sea Tiger's deck, usually a smallish whitetip shark in one of the cargo holds, and huge lobsters in both wrecks' engine rooms...too bad the bugs are out of season right now. I solo dive, so the staying together thing isn't much of a concern for me :)

You could always rent one, Herr Lecter.
