Self defense in nation space.

DE, plz explain how the game engine should react to:

1. The pirate outside shoots a newbie inside NFZ, intentionally missing, then the newbie shoots back from inside NFZ
2. A noob is shooting collectors in monitored space. Someone crosses his firing line. Then he destroys the noob.
3. Someone parks just outside the single docking ou launch bay of a small station. Anyone leaving or entering must bump him. Can he shoot back after being bumped?

Case list goes on and only decent solution i see is enforcing that NFZs are really NO-FIRE zones. And that would require different rules for the whole sector with stations, as any weapons fire inside nation's station sectors but outside NFZ will result in escalated response.

I like meatloaf more than steak, personally. The kind slathered in ketchup, not the kind in gravy. With a side of macaroni and cheese.

Currently, the game doesn't care which player is in the NFZ. If either player is in the NFZ, the same rules apply. But to answer your question, I have suggested a weapons safety setting, that the noob may not fire at a target that is faction friendly, without first turning off the weapons safety setting. If he is un noob enough to turn off the weapons safety setting, then he is un noob enough to have to learn to check his trigger finger.

2. A noob is shooting collectors in monitored space. Someone crosses his firing line. Then he destroys the noob.
I suggest that if you damage someone in faction space, that is not your current target, while you have the weapon safety turned on, and the damage is less than some prescribed amount (%10?), that you receive a warning. A noob that ignores multiple warnings may still end up in trouble. But at least we have limited hostiles to hive sectors, and given noobs multiple warnings. A pirate can use these facts to their advantage, but it wold take a lot of work to do so.

no. bumps under a certain speed should not really raise any red flags.

There may not be a perfect solution. The main point here is to make it increasingly difficult, or at least time consuming, to exploit the faction system, such that a noob feels unable to employ self defense. If a noob gets killed a few times before they learn how to avoid being exploited, that is still better than what we have now. currently, a pirate can just outright kill the noob, over and over again, and the noob can not defend themselves without risking faction penalty. There is no short term action or behavior a noob can adopt to allow them to travel safely through the next wormhole. NONE. If I have a stock of trade goods at a nearby station, I can camp a wormhole, and kill every noob that attempts to pass, maintain perfect faction standing, for as long as I have stocked trade goods to fix my standing. And there is nothing a noob can do about it. They can not even try without risking faction loss.

I do not expect that noobs will die any less, simply by merit that they can defend themselves. I expect that dieing without even being allowed to try to defend one's self is unbearable.

1 ) The newb is supposed to die anyway.
2 ) If he manages to kill the pirate, meaning here the pirate let the newb kill him, just trigger a game message that announces ****Player PPPPP has bin killed by a newb**** every 5s for 15mn eventually the pirate will get bored OR amused!
