The Trident doesn't have a TPG badge or logo on it. You're thinking of the Teradon.

Yeah, I recall the Teradon's pre-release RP crap. But I think the Trident was also a TPG ship, and TPG is our default ship designer. What evidence do you have it's Itani?

Further, I think that the Prometheus and Valkyrie should be only purchasable by members of their respective military. However, not until such time as it's possible for players to trade ships amongst each other.

Also not until you can be kicked out of a military for poor standing and join the other (there may need to be a probationary period before they'd accept you though, and also a higher faction requirement than normal due to having served on the other side).

Evidence? Not much really aside from it being crap from a military perspective and not having lots of pointy corners like Serco ships and not having the TPG logo plastered across the side like all their other capital ships do. The Itani are supposed to have some big ships according to the back-story but there's none in-game. Meh.

Pizzasgood: Yeah there should definitely be a way to get kicked out of the military. I don't know why they would keep someone who's committed enough crimes to be hated as active duty.
