Premium Xith Non Proliferation Act.

The transportation of premium xith in nation space outside the accepted xith transport lanes will result in kos for the pilot.

Implementation details: All nation sectors beyond the accepted xith lanes will be marked as non proliferation sectors. Entering a non proliferation sector with xith or picking xith up in non proliferation sectors will display a warning to eject the contraband on threat of military action. Leaving any non proliferation sector with xith in hold will result in kos.

edit: I meant purified xithricite (the ctc stuff). mostly to keep ctc in grey (out of uit space).

Maybe I am just too much of a newb to know the automatic answers to these questions, but:

What's the end purpose of this? Tightening up the CTC competition?

What about the miners?

I think he means purified xithricite (the ctc stuff), not premium xithricite (the mined stuff.)

I should've read this before posting my thoughts in the CTC rerouting thread. Roda, I think we're both looking at about the same desired end result.

As a side effect, if the devs put in a 'contraband detection and response' system, it might in the future be opened up to more cargoes than purified xithricite (ctc cargo).

I like this idea.

Aye, this is a good idea... it also has its merit once the faction redux rolls around and we do away with Tri-POS, too, because there may still be some dual-neutral pilots that can go through Serco and Itani space with Premium Xith.

aye its quite annoying when certain players..... jmvcilus being one of them, ambushes a transport in say...latos... and runs to uit space in order to make sure that he cant be engaged without the other side losing massive standing. (He's not the only one, nor is it restricted to JUST itani and their supporters... just the most recent example I've seen)

Wow...whats with all these ideas recently to nerf stuff? There is no real reason to close UIT space as a route for CtC xith.

EDIT:(unless your only talking about killing serco voys in serco space and itani voys in itani space...in which case I can +1 that)

There most certainly is a reason, UIT is officially neutral in the war. Allowing purified xith to cross their borders is violating the spirit of that neutrality. It is the reason the ctc convoys don't go through UIT space.
May 26, 2010 Jmvcilus link
um...Itani and Serco can go through UIT so it is already neutral.

There's always Edras, too. -1 to xith routes

I have no problem if you take ctc in nation space, as long as killing you in that space does not represent a faction standing loss.

ctc is meant to encourage conflict, and hiding behind faction standing is a conflict of interest.

Ok, purified xith makes more sense, but I still can't get behind it. I've traded in purified xith, so I have a vested intrest, but it's not much.

Folks running through UIT space still have to cross through Grey to finish in a CTC sense, so you can still kill them there without faction loss. UIT members that are participating in CTC are already sacrificing some of their neutrality, but not as far as their official standing is concerned. Instead of some crazy regime with cargo scanning, etc. How about UIT players who participate for one side automatically take a faction hit with the opposing side? ISTM this would preserve UIT's general philosiphy of "anything short of piracy or murder for a buck", but mitigate the free ride their participants in CTC are percieved to have.

I am for having a prohibited cargo and smuggling, but don't think it's necessary to tie it to xith/CTC.

An example straight from the backstory of why ships carrying purified xith shouldn't be allowed in UIT space: read about UIT's response when Serco requested passage to pursue Arkanese attackers. They refused. A player ship carrying a war cargo is no different from an NPC ship carrying a war cargo. Purified xith is a war cargo. If it weren't against UIT policy the convoys wouldn't need to start out in grey space now would they? Heck there wouldn't be any ctc convoys at all, UIT convoys would carry it to the buyers and make money.

But in the end, I agree with Roda, at least let both sides engage purified xith carriers in UIT space without faction loss so players cannot hide behind UIT's shield in ctc.

Akanese, not Arkanese.

scabpicker: Mind clarifying 'trading in pure xith' ? I don't think it's possible to actually buy or sell it to any station except the ctc ones, which just take it from you automatically.

Screw you nay sayers.
May 27, 2010 endercp12 link
@spedy. The axia mission tree which eventually yields the extreme drain powercell has you mine, then process xith before selling to predesignated stations. The stuff you sell is purified xith.

Nonono, that's xirite alloy. If you actually look at the ctc widget they are rather distinct. I'm running through the Xithricite Apothecarium right now, and there's definitely a difference.
