Going from neutral to nearly POS should take more than an hour in a moth.
Earning POS should be a real achievement and require a long term commitment.
At present, they are 1) a quicky way for new players to get to the 'safe' status for that faction and 2) a quicky way for players to recover lost standing.
Low priority. Get to 2.0.000 first.

The problem is not the missions, it's the ship.
Death Fluffy,
1. If you don't stock anything at station it takes minimum couple of hours to get POS. I was regaining my faction standings with UIT two days ago after I killed UIT representative, urgh.. it wasn't so easy as you say. I killed at about 20.00 and got my standings down from POS to -113. I regained POS at 00.30 (and I was doing non-stop procs on XC).. Btw, my plasteel moth XC was two times shot down.
2. There are certainly some moments that maybe should be fixed:
- As Doc said, it's the ship, you're doing the procs.
- Stocking cargo at a station (though it doesn't break concept of free trade and economy, maybe gameplay a little)

No. The problem is the mission. No one takes the other trade missions because the moment they start playing, everyone tells them to take bulk proc missions for trade xp and faction standing.
Reduce the faction gain and perhaps the xp on the premium missions to something inline with the other missions and the ship used ceases to be an issue.
I can go from -100 or so to 900+ UIT in about 45 minutes in a standard moth. POS is just ego.

Heh, let's not look at the game only from one side. I partially agree with this point of view, though gaining faction standings till +200 is faster with mineral mission in trading guild. ;)
But sure, I always tell my students to do procs, moreover with my alts I usually do only one non-proc trade mission - blank datapad delivery in the same system.
When you take delivery mission and complete it, station often gives you to take smth back.. And total exp for 2 missions is smaller then for single analogical proc.
Would be great if experienced traders post real trading guild mission comparison with proportions or numbers.

Probably making the Trade Guild missions ask semi-random items, instead of allways same very few ones, would provide a more elegant solution...
I.e., make Trade Guild missions ask for different item every time you take it, not repeating itself.
Or keep some basic items present, but progressively reduce its payment, both credits and standing, just like overall trade behaves, the more you deliver same item the lower its price drops.

just vastly widening the array of crap they want would help alot. though some of us have accumulated impressive stockpiles of junk.
Can't we just make bulk procurements really BULK and not just an XC load?
Bulk procurements should be able to be taken as a group (with faction gain given at 75% to all parties), as to encourage working together and higher concentrations of juicy targets (for those with such predilections).
And yes... I am thread hijacking... but deal, because you know it's a good idea.

bulk procurements were originally meant to be done in a centaur.
they weren't really changed all that much when they introduced the player piloted behemoth.
the procs still give you enough time to do the missions in a 'taur.
perhaps upping the amount of cargoes is in order...
don't rly care much, personally...
keep flyin' them moths, ninnies!

I think 300-600cus / bulk mission would be good for that.

And by the way, add weapons and other equipment sold on stations as procs and delivery missions item.
aww. Pirren hijacked my thread hijack :(.
in any case, +1 pirren. I see no reason why weps and other odds and ends shouldn't be part of procs or trade guild missions.

This thread should be renamed "Bulk Proc mission Fix" so no ones hijacks it suggesting fixes...
1) Increase diversity of required items, never repeat. This should include weapons and addons, of course
2) To be BULK, must require more than 201cu of cargo.
3) Groups should have a properly balanced mission. But not force all players to haul cargo, since a escort is very valuable. Player-only convoys is cool! I see (0.8X*Players)cu as ideal requirement, where X is required volume for single player. Example, if it requires 100cu for one player, then will be 160 for 2 and 240 for 3 pplz, so makes sense one fly as escort.

Alloh, it would be some what unrealistic to never repeat a bulk proc. Especially given the finite amount of trade goods, weapons and add ons.
Multiply the number of cu's of cargo required for all trade missions by 80. Leave the credit, xp, and faction payout the same as it is now. Problem solved.
someone really likes to grind...
