(Relates to Convoys & Capships suggestion)

Reduced payment while docked/gunner already implemented from above post, now we need to address the major abuse, already stated on update notice: Take a loaded Moth, take a escort mission and travel safely docked to capship.
[Edit]And 2nd abuse being used by rats to enter nation space safely, even using capships' turrets against local ships/turrets.

I see [2]3 alternatives, what you you prefer?
(May be a different idea)

1) Tridents only does Repair/Reload/Launch
Quite simple, when a player docks with Trident, it does a no-question-asked Repair and Reload, free if ppl is in group/mission with cappie, and automatically launches ship after RR, with a msg like "Now get out there and do your job".

2) Only small ships are allowed to "internal" dock, while medium/large ones does "external" docking, remaining visible/targetable/destructable
More complex, only small ships (list to be discussed) to do a complete docking, storing the ship inside trident and allowing access to turrets. Other ships only does external docking, and stay visible in docking bay while docked, thus preventing another ship from docking.

Both solutions also address my major concern:
WHY make a convoy while you can simply dock inside tens of moths/taurs/atlas to capship and ride (almost) safe?

3) When convoy or cappie is attacked it should eject/launch all pilots/ships docked inside, as a safety rule.

Options, eject only when attacked by any nation turrets, or eject for any sort of attack?
I prefer only for nation turrets.

4) If you are allowed to take mission, then you are allowed to dock with mission's capiship(s).

However, I still like being able to run a voy to where ever I'm headed and ride the trident while I do other things. Makes VO far less 'boring'. I could give a shit less whether I get paid or not.

Edit: Fuck that. I'd be willing to pay for the ride based on the distance.

Well, while we are on the subject of convoy exploits, how about stopping the "getting the voy killed" exploit.

Simple , a "trader" ,( well of course it is only traders that exploit voys) , who is say uit hated takes a voy from grey to dau and rides the cappie. The cappie gets destroyed, the nasty exploiting trader swaps to a admired alt, scoops the cargo.

So perhaps Instant eject if the cappie comes under fire as a result of an undesirable passenger ?

You get paid, nut much but fair salary for gunner job, if you dock in a fighter or a bus. Not even Revenant should dock, too long.

Also, no full docking with cargo should be allowed.

From VO-wiki's General ships table I'd limit full docking to only ships with lenght>=10m:
-EC's
-Centurions
-(Wart)Hogs

Why? Vults and Valks are 12m, as long as Tung Min Maud with 60cu.

Or you could just base it on whether the ship is carrying cargo, which seems far simpler to me.

If there were any god damned people in my path I might. I can fly around the entire fucking universe twice and not see another player. As it is, it is far more enjoyable to not have to fly across 5 or six systems to get to my destination than it is to sit at the controls meaninglessly grinding out another fucking jump point.

So shut the god damned fuck up you useless squirt of diarrhea.

lets also drop the payouts down by atleast one 0 and add atleast one 0 to the kill bonus.

i tried to keep the suggestion simple, easy to impliment. all payouts are divided by 10 all kill bonuses are multiplyed by 10.

Speaking about exploits.
1.a. I support No-dock-for-moth at all.
1.b. IMHO, there's no need in RR and eject. I suggest ejecting player if voy is under attack (no chance to redock at current sector).
2. Huge payouts for convoys and lack of responsibility for killing convoys (especially launched by yourself), even no faction loss :/

Children, no need to bad words or personal attacks, try to keep focus on ideas...

Back on ideas, the biggest (longest) ships are:
34m Moth
21m Prom
19m Rag
18m Centaur
17m Hornet

So, where to cut? 22m exclude only Moths, but problem is that the centaur is smaller than Rag/Prom.

I still prefer that only 10m ships can full dock, while all other can R-R-Launch, while standing visible and attackable!

I also like the idea for (Kills $x10)(Voy $x0.1)...

For what Pirren exposed, the next major convoy exploit deserves its own topic, for convoy survivors having memory and what to do with cancelled voys and traitors.

while in general i support closing exploits in convoys, including the ability i have to take a mission, kill the voy and just fly back still admired. currently there are basically no non npc traders to pirate, due largly to them all hiding in nation space (fucking turrets).

I would warn against cutting out one of the pirates last sources of prey without getting around to that mythical goal of drawing more traders into Grey.

Sorry if I seem to be getting impatient, in truth I am.

That is true... but for another Topic

Severely reduce convoys inside NATION space, make only border-crossing convoys worthy.

And also the Trade Guild missions should demand one to leave nation borders...

Well, trade guild missions work. They give a mechanism for new players to get into vo, give them a feel for flying about and using the gui. They are available at all stations, and really are quite fair in terms of credits and xp earned. Leave them alone for the time being.

Vets do not take them, dragging folk at low levels out of nation space is a bit unfair .

Instant eject would be awkward. If they know that you can't escort the convoy the whole way they shouldn't offer to hire you to try.

Why not just disallow docking during escort missions, altogether? Isn't it an advantage enough that the ship you're escorting has 1,000,000 or 3,000,000 armor and uber gauss?
