Interesting idea. Doing image profiles are more problematic, but something like this isn't too bad. Although the issue with letting people write about themselves is whether they create something grotesque which then requires administrative overhead to remove or edit.

To tell you the truth, I'd probably change this to the profile of a friendly trader before going off to hunt... that's not a criticism.

Other than that, though, I don't really see a use to this :/

incarnate, although it probably means more work for you (developers): Why not offer a selection of inalterable profile images? Granted, it's not really customizable, but it'd be better than no image at all, right?

Agree with most, but suggest, as allways, some changes:

+ Birth place (here goes list of all Serco/UIT/Itani planets)
---Add stations too, most should have sick bay/hospital. And restrict the list to habitable planets.
+ Pilot education (list of authorities)
---Populated by in-game achievements, as Basic flight, X Test pilot, Hive Hunter, so on
+ Background (list to choose)
---Inherit Guild attributes, if affiliated

-No pics/images, at least start without them.
-GUILD included, with guild orientation. (Relates with Background above)
-Behaviour indicator given by game engine, based on pilots achievements and hostility.
-One line of free text, just like MSN status, not pre-moderated but possible to complain about resulting sanction as generic text.

As long as displaying info is voluntary. Some people prefer their stats a bit more private. Kinda like a facebook profile. In fact, why doesn't everyone just go make a facebook account for their vo character(s)?
