Make the trident simply stop if they don't see the player warp, 1000 meters, I know it's unrealistic that the player couldn't just transmit coordinates to the trident. But I'd actually like to see traders trying to use tridents as protective shells for xc's. mostly because i want to blow said shells full of Sedina chocolate (i hope) to bits. I think ill call them m&m's.

Or you could just have the trident take on a tag denoting who's renting it. That'd be like a giant flashing come shoot me sign.

I still think that there needs to be some kind of anti-armor weapon usable against cappies with their shields down (or just reduce the armor of non-military cappies) before we let traders ride around in them with their XCs. I stand by my suggestion of disabling turbo function for convoy/rental connies and tridents and reducing the armor of convoy/rental connies (not military connies) to 1,000,000 (previously 4,000,000) and Trident armor from 1,000,000 to 500,000 (again not the Tridents in hive/border skirmishes). For comparison, Hive Queens have 300,000 armor and a Leviathan has 3,000,000 (Imagine having to kill a 90 m/s infiboost Leviathan with one third more health that's only going through about 3 sectors: 'tis about what it's like to take down a connie without ramming it through an uber turret blockade), Shields, of course, should remain untouched.

Either that or make the Avalon-redux torpedos do exponentially less damage to shields but make them beat the crap out of armor.

I suggested chopping down the armor on the trade convoy cappies a while ago, and increasing the cargo hold, just park a trident next to an XC, it should easily be able to hold 3 or 4 times as much, especially when you figure the saved room with less armor. A constellation, well, that would be 20 times at least, probably more, but it would likely be carrying things used in incredible bulk, mainly ore, or drinking water, or simple plastics. Higher value ore, 1200c and up, should have a Teredon escort as well.
