"How should that work? Target turns around and the interceptor is toast?"

Yes, that's the risk of intercepting, so I agree with Azumi.

I am more wondering about the huge drain you have suggested. With such a drain you have to use all flare setup only because you will have not any spare energy to fire once you intercept someone.

Bojan it would be nothing like that the lesser factions you are talking about produce AAPs rev cs ravens bio-com mines and the like corvus is supposed to have high dealings with nations so them getting a hold of ships for black market use is not out of the question. Your post is just an attempt to get people to roleplay nationalists

Wrong again Peytros. My suggestions about role specific pirate ships is aimed to bring more variety in VO universe. If and when "New Faction System" introduces Unaligned faction, there will be a need for more pirate or "unaligned" ship variants.
My real attempt for trying to bring more nationalist roleplaying in VO was my suggestion regarding Akanese faction but that is another story.
Black market is a completely different thing. I have been advocating Corvus Black market with Corvus modified nation specific ships for years. :)

And some lesser factions do indeed make some specific advanced equipment (biocom mine, AAP), not ships but equipment. Rev C is a slightly nerfed variant of IBG, Corvus Vulturis is a slightly nerfed variant of SVG, Corvus Marauder is a slightly nerfed variant of TPG Marauder X, etc. Corvus Black market could be a place for just that: buying slightly nerfed variants of nation specific top of the line ships and it could solve your thirst for a pirate valk.
