Get on with the Super Weapons!

Ok, power grids are in place, Inc's got his tools to easilly add new addons, so lets get with the super weapons!! We want a deluge! A cornucopia of total destruction!! Let's have some totally nutty awesomeness to play with, and lets have it now!!

Suggested Weapons:

Big Awesome Death Ray: We need beam weapons pretty please! Like the old cap beams or like Lecters beam lance. It would be FUN.

Super intense turrets and repeaters: N3s with a rediculous refire rate, AGT's that spread like flower petels

L PORT RAILS! We've been positively BEGGING for Lport rails, please please please give us some kind of super long range L port rail gun

Anyone else got some ideas?

just what i always wanted an even less accurate agt.

but seriousley l port rail shotguns, the same fireing cone as the standard gatling cannon would suffice with 15 railmk1 pellets per shot maybe 7 shots total

i want a slow moving 40M/s missile that leaves a big gry smoketrail does something like 10000 damage in a 500 meter radius and when it detonates it makes a flash like when a constealtion blows up

and you get 4 ammo with 2 sec refire rate

heck i wanna have a death star planetkiller thing, who needs to aim, shoot a roid and kill everything including, the roid, the player you were aiming at, the allied cappy next to that enemy player, the station, as well as vaporizing yourself. or it could be a big missile with tracking.jk devs this is all stupid if you ask m i cant even imagin how hard this would be to put in.

but one thing that might be nice would be if missiles and rockets explode when they run out of range instead of disapearing.

Im sure Vo doesnt respond to begs from the players, what VO requires is money to implement the changes and to keep the surver going due to the changes. Begs don't pay the bills.

Well, they do take suggestions. In this case, asking Incarnate for a spontaneous, ill-thought-out, overpowered glut of weapons is probably half-kidding.

Oh, you know what we need? A pizza bomb! Three parts, all L ports, on is the dough ball, the other is the sauce gun and the last is the cheese cannon. Think of the possibilities, but if uses separately, you get nothing but a mess. Kinda like my dinner is going to end up tonight...

Actually, this topic was spurred by dev comments that new weapons would be forthcoming early next week since the weapons grid is now in place. They also mentioned avalons woud return once they'd changed cap ships to prioritize and destroy them.

Sorry, but what is avalons exactly? I appearently joined the game after it was removed.

Avalon torpedoes were big, slow-moving rockets with a huge "nuclear" explosion and damage effect when they hit. They were removed because they were deemed too powerful for the game at the time. The developers have vowed to return them to the game when VO has evolved to the point where such a weapon has a valid role and is balanced by other game features.

Most update nights the devs can be talked into launching a avalon or two while they're zooming around, and we bug them quite often to do so. Last time A1k0n fired it really slow. I drifted up to it and a couple of us were just floating along with it. Then I thrusted into it...

Destructive fun was had.

For a split of a sec it was beautiful...
Then everything in a 2000m radius ceased to exist, except for A1k0ns bunchies UFO who escaped at 700m/s.

How about a gun that's a mix between a Gauss Cannon and a Neutron Blaster? Let's say...

Damage - 1200
Velocity - 185
Energy - 45/blast
Delay - 0.25s
Mass - 800kg
Level 7/6/3/-/-
Targeting - Ala Neutron Blaster
DPE - 26.66

So, for sacrificing some speed and energy efficiency, you get an up close blaster that can really pack a punch. Since four of these would be especially nasty, it could have a power grid use of 6 or 7.

Well all of these ideas seem great but.....

Any combination of one of these will or will not happen:

1) The devs will release super weapons. But they would be uber expensive.

2) The Devs WONT Release super weapons. instead they put more addons to the ships we currently own.

3) The Devs will release a defensive addon. that would make it harder to kill your ship.

Note: number three would be my favorite. because right now combat is all offence and it needs some defence.

I like #3 too.

Dudes, check out my avalon pic in the screenshot competition post! It detonated when it ran into my free-flight camera - still don't know why that happened...
