Heres a thought, a large port addon that weighs nothing but holds an extra 60 pellets giving you a maximum of 150 adv rail shots on a rag.
Also a small port version would be nice too make it only hold 30 shots though. That brings the total up to 190 shots, 210 if you carry all addons and no guns but that would be pointless.

really people, how many snipers last long enough in a fight to use all 10 shots anyway?
it would make sense if the range wasn't so short.
feels like them rods are tethered.

yea ive heard that the devs have a plan to make the rails work properley at several km. something about making the pellets actually be tiny missiles or some such stuff.
An elaboration on the range issue:
Because the Internet is a system of very narrow tubes, we can't treat it like a dump truck. We need to chop our data up into little data; ie, we need to quantize it. And that includes your ship's orientation. At low ranges, this isn't noticable. However, as the thing you're aiming at gets farther and farther away, a difference of a fraction of a percent in the angle of your orientation can translate to the difference between hitting or missing. Since decreasing the amount of quantization doesn't appear to be an option (at least from what the devs have said), making rails into little missiles that hav enough guidance to counteract the quantization is the only solution.
Not that it would be humanly possible to hit a moving spacecraft at much more than the current range anyhow...

I'm for the addition of long range missles, since technically that's exactly what missles are used for. Once countermeasures are in place, of course.

i do! and i still want one!
but i like the spare clip idea too.
but a dual rail warthogII would be sweet for chasin' if the damage ratio was worth it.
i like the second set of stats.

Moving != Accelerating. Movement doesn't matter, but with them bouncing all over the place... yea, it's kinda hard. Personally though I think it should be perfectly possible to shoot a mine or AFK miner from 3KM provided your hand is steady enough, not that I support such a use of a railgun >.>
Conc mines are more fun for messing with AFK miners.

If by "conc mines" you meant L-mines...
Well I wasn't about to ruin the ambiguity of that post by pointing out that the conc mines were only fun when placed in such a way that they instantly destroy the target ship....
Heh , one of those on the rear port of the 'taur would be fun........

yes please.

I am against it, because I think the devs' argumentation on the point is correct: BVR fights (which is what you want, essentially) are boring.
