Prior to the off topic slew, which should probably be whacked by someone who weeds the forums, my last post summarized my position on why the hive posi is a fine addition to the game as is, and if there's to be some new fun flavor of "other" weapon to be added, let it be something other than the hive posi. Auto aim isn't uber, and the hive posi fills a new role with a weapon unobtainable by normal routes. Now, go back to running madly through tubes in the now larger cent and STFU Boxy.

why even have an AGT if we have something that is better, weighs less and fits in a small slot?

As stated earlier, I'm not against uber rare-drops. But this is just a boring, stupid weapon.

The AGT is faster firing, automatically puts fire in a slight "scatter" pattern, and has, in fact, a better auto-aim (in the sense that it has a wider auto aim cone than the HP). AGT is a closer range anti-tin can (mainly Cent) L port weapon for heavies.

Hive Posi is a different weapon, more effective in longer range situations against larger ships (BS me all you want, the Hive posi needs a Valk or bigger target for the AA to really help your hit %), but weighing much more relative to other S port wapons (compare a HP to an AAP, and then an AGT to a Plas Dev or L port rocket pod), doing a lesser DPE, having no scatter, a slower refire, and a huge energy drain. Moreover, the bitching about the SCP with hive posis aside (SCP is a tank and should be; different debate), it has the potential to make the Valk a useful counter platform to the SCP. Centered HP & suns on a vengance does a nice counter to the flare/AGT prom setup.

This is a useful weapon that is easily countered, as you, Shape, well know. It fills a niche between gauss and neut III/AAP species in the S port world. I know it doesn't fit your purist, knife range, all reflex style.
