Phaser, your last suggestion looks good, though I really haven't looked over the numbers that thoroughly.
I think I already addressed the 'spray and pray' idea of doubling the output of the GC, but I'll say it again; the battery drain would be prohibitive of anything other than well-planned bursts.
1400KG? seems a bit much... maybe 1100. Remember, this is the GC, not the AGT. Some decent mobility is actually needed to use it.

Now we just need a Vulture with an L-port to mount it. The Warthog would utterly suck with such a weapon against any ship that's more agile than it.
Or maybe a new ship class altogether, a ship, more agile than the 'hog, less agile than the Vulture, with one single L-port.

/me points to his Wraith MKI
how about that one? would be half-decent for botting...
or... *pulls his popcorn rag out of the station hold where it was collecting vast volumes of dust* this one?

The Wraith is more agile than the vulture?
It's agile enough when toting an 1100KG weapon.
/me likes Phaserlight's first suggestion best
The very first post you made on this thread. Excellent idea!

The Axia Wraith is pretty agile weapons platform...too bad it doesn't see much use.
When an AGW is more maneuverable than an Atlas Mk. II, I'll use it. Right now, the Atlas always almost wins. :(
