Take Off Friendly Fire

This has long been a problem. You can't attack people of your own nation unless they allow you to. But I agree that there should be a sense of security when with members of your own nation.

My suggestion: To be able to shut down your Weapon's Safety System. When shutting this off within a sector, it would declare in the sector chat "fooz2916 has disengaded his Safety System T-Minus 10 seconds" and on the 'list players window' it would have an icon that shows that a player has friendly fire off. This would also have to be repeated whenever entering another sector.

I've wanted to see the friendly fire thing removed ever since I started playing. Maybe leave it on in nation space or something to prevent noobs getting blasted, but it could be turned off in grey. Also, this would do a lot to balance rockets in group combat cause you would run the risk of hitting your allies along with your enemies.

i understand that the idea behind FF is to protect new players from rampaging veterans, but i have to agree that it gets in the way given the rest of the game is open PVP. Also i have to question the need to protect new players in that way. As it is they have the strike force, and the advantage of being in systems that are reasonably clear of the main action spots (Deneb C-10 and Sedina B-8).

Perhaps the FF protection should protect against ALL damage from players and go away after the tutorial is finished or aborted. Then the tutorial text can be altered to stress the fact that anyone can attack you at any time. All of this is of coarse more difficult and time consuming to do that it sounds but for the mean time it may be enough to remove FF all together.

It makes sense that in "monitored space" any friendly (aka, same-nation) ship should have "weapon safeties" as we currently makes this bug ought to be.

However, anything jumping into a nation that's not yours, including grey space, then said safeties should be inoperable.

Rocket spamers would have to think twice and so would third-person dog fighters because either could hit a team mate.

That would bring battle reality up a notch.

i agree.. leave it on in YOUR nation space, but be off everywhere else.

eg itani cant hurt itani inside ITANI space.. but itani can damage other itani inside SERCO or UIT space.

Turn it off anywhere. Anyone who kills someone in nation space (seeing as how to get in they are more likely liked) gets a bounty :/

Simple as that.

Without FF I wonder how many newbs will go through the 8-hour trial without getting nuked by the forces of their own nation.

Big boys like you can easily go around the FF limitations ;-)

It would also fit the story of the UIT better. Now in order to attack other members you wouldn't have to tank your standing. Warring UIT factions could emerge. Like the whole valent v axia thing.

Would be good, would work with the whole standing issue.
Each faction has an enemy. (Like Valent vs. Axia)
You could not have positive Axia AND positive Valent.
Same as Serco vs. Itani, etc
