Put these lines into your wgaf.cfg file, and you'll have something that (I think) is better than that, katcha2.

alias msgprompt "prompt '/msg '"
bind 'F' msgprompt

This will make so when you press shift-F (I didn't use lowercase f, because that is one of the default maneuvering controls), it will pop up a text entry box. In the text entry box, you can type the first letter or three of your friend's name, and press [TAB]. That will autocomplete the name, and you're ready to type whatever message you want to send to them. IMO this is better, because it's easier to type a few letters & hit tab, than it is to hunt for a certain name in a list & click on it with the mouse, and then move your hands back to the keyboard to type a message. Also, this doesn't require the devs to do any work, you can do it right now.

But I would still like it if the devs added a say_buddies command to send a message to everyone on my buddy list.

I wasn't implying that you where the devil, just that you and your friends could assign a specific channel to talk on. Works well, I think that that is the easyest soulution to a problem that the devs realy don't need to worry about.

No, say_buddies would be more similar to the say_group and say_guild commands, (g & G keys), where you would type one message that would be sent to all your buddies that were online when you sent the message. For an easy way to send a private /msg to one of your buddies, see the alias I made in my last post.

I would say that you have been noticed, definitely by players (we're on the second page of replies now), and most likely by the devs as well. There are only 4 devs, and their time is precious, so while they do read these message boards, they don't always reply. I can even name some suggestions that have shown up in the game after being mentioned in this suggestions forum, but the devs didn't post in the threads about it. But, don't take that to mean that a say_buddies command will show up in the game very soon. The devs are currently hard at work with many new things that I want to see finished, so while I think say_guild would be a useful command, I don't think they should drop what they're doing right now to work on this.

I personally don't think that the proposed say_buddy command would work well. If you can figure it out, tell me please, I'm lost.
