Updater Problem
I just downloaded the Vendetta Client, I istalled it and I ran Vendetta.exe. The Update Utility started, connected to the server, and in la last 30 minutes managed to download 16kb out of the total 5481kb. I don't think it's my connection since I did download the 108mb client in about an hr. I am running Windows XP.
Make sure you have your firewall set up properly in XP. I'm not sure how to do that though. Hopefully someone else can help with that.
You're such a noob ray.

Will Vendetta Online work through my firewall and Network Address Translation?
The Vendetta Updater, the auto-update program that executes prior to game startup, makes an outbound connection to TCP port 21024. Once updating has completed and the game itself is fired up, a connection is established upon login attempt to UDP port 21141. Thus, any modern firewall capable of "keeping state" on outbound TCP/UDP should require no alterations. Other firewalls and packet filter implementations may require specific configuration changes. Both the updater and game work fine through Network Address Translation.

However, ZoneAlarm doesn't like VO. You get higher ping if ZoneAlarm is running, and everything in general is slower. Please note that I have never experienced this behavior on my current PC, but many, many people have.
the thing is the game doesn't update at all
If you have a firewall, it may be interfering with the updater. Please verify that it is disabled, then try the updater again to see if that is the culprit (and remember to enable it again).
