Cursed Premium Carbonic Ore of Cargo -1
So, I'm out mining away, and I notice that I'm mining a 'roid with 3 minerals (Xithricite, Carbonic, and Ferric), but somehow my inventory is showing 4 seperate types of cargo... two of which have the same cargo icon. And when I dock I find I have 9x Premium Carbonic Ore that will sell for 74c, and 1x Premium Carbonic Ore that will sell for 0c. Trying to unload or sell the 1x Premium Carbonic Ore gives "Station transaction error: Unable to find addon." Leaving the station and jettisoning does nothing. RelayeR reports /explode works to get rid of it, but I didn't try it. I'm parked in Pelatus Bunker in Pelatus O-15 (and the 'roid I was mining is in the same sector).
Edit: logging out and back in fixed it. The ore disappeared.

Heh!
We've been looking for this bug, trying to figure out what kind of item was causing the station transaction error (we get a bug report in our database when this happens, but there isn't enough info in the report to figure out what's going on exactly). Thanks for the clarification.
Anyone else seeing this?
If while mining you notice this in your cargo inventory, can you make a note of the sector you're in and the exact percentages of cargo the rock has (this way we can figure out which rock it was)? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Pelatus N-15, mining a roid that was 65% VanAzek and 35% Carbonic.
I was moving in pretty fast when I started my mining lasers. Oh, and I was in a two small, two large mkII one scanner Rag.

A1k0n,
Sure can.
Premium Ferric Ore, 0c
Artana Aquilus E-11
Roid comp:
Carbonic Ore 71.8%
Ferric Ore 59.1%
Attempted directions:
Exit station, point back at exit docks.. orient with one dock on top of the other. The "in" docking port will be in the lower left portion of your view.
Angle down until the star of the system is in center view. You will see 3 or 4 large roids fairly close. The roid that is all or mostly enveloped by the star is the roid that the errant ore was mined from. I left it at about 59K.
Took some dist measurements. From the Exit docks its ~1339m. From the red flashy on the antenna on the in dock I measured it at 1203m
I've also got some screenshots for orientation, and one with the roid selected.

same here, but didnt have a scanner mounted, so couldn't tell ya the composition of the roid. Also, couldn't jettison the cargo, noticed that first...
I was in Dau L-10.

When you all have this happen, are you mining with multiple mining beams simultaneously?
Yes. I usually fire my Large MK IIs a fraction of a second before I fire my small port lasers. Maybe there's some weird timing issue?
When I had this happen I was in a wraith, with 1 scanner, 1 S mining beam and 1 L mining beam.
I've set the weapon groups to fire the mining beams at the same time.
I may have upgraded the L mining beam, but I'll have to check on that.

I regularly mine with two MKIIs bound to primary and secondary fire. I'm sure there's a nanosecond or so of lag between click 1 and click 2 to activate them, but I haven't noticed any errors so far.
Beolach: I did't know this was in relation to a bug and was kidding about /explode. Glad you didn't try it.
reptyle: interesting that the roid composition adds up to greater than 100%. Are you sure those are the percentages you saw?
The next time this happens, can you do a /printinventory and send me your errors.log?
Of course that wasn't right :)
I transposed the Temp with the Ferric ore count.
Its:
Carbonic Ore 71.8%
Ferric Ore 28.2%

OK people cheating is what is causing this...
On my first day mining, I used the number 1 mining addon (a pen lid) I got ghost cargo. I think it has something to do with lag, or the speed the player is ejecting/re-collecting cargo. I bet everyone who has ghost cargo either a) uses sellotape, b) a pen lid, or c) a book. (You get my point AFK miners, or you will when you find yourself pushed out of range ;p heh)
This needs addressing guys, power leveling like this is kool, but being able to do it in the first place is just plain wrong - fix it (batt drain or something, force them to be creative, and use a bind ;p)
[Edit] Since I removed the Pen Lid, I have not seen ghost cargo, I could be wrong, but I dont think so, as I have seen most the people in the thread with huge green blobs behind them.

a1k0n: When I had it happen I was in a Hornet w/ 3 small mining beams and a scanner. I don't remember the exact percentages of ore content, sorry.
RelayeR: Even though I didn't try /explode, I would guess it has a fair chance of getting rid of the ore. Which is why I didn't catch on to it being a joke.
yodaofborg: I suppose that's possible. I have setup looping jettison aliases, but for the record I haven't abused it by leaving my ship mining while I was AFK (at least, not for more than bathroom breaks and such). And I'm not conviced that this is the source of the problem, as I still use my looping jettison aliases, and have only encountered the problem once.

Hmm, you guys may be jettisoning exactly when you receive a new ore cargo item. I'll try that one.
I am going to change the way jettison works anyways. Pressing j will bring up the jettison menu (cargo menu if you will) and then you can jettison select cargo or you'll have to press a to jettison all. Pressing j again will close the menu.

yay. selective jettisoning!
I'd like to add a little "horay" about the cargo menu myself... but could we also keep a way to automatically jetison all cargo? It's really handy when carying a load of purified Xithricite and you know you can't get away from someone. A menu could waist precious seconds.
Like the old navscreen probably, where pressing n and j in rapid succession would result in warping without displaying the menu. Here it'll be j and a.
yoda: I got this error while flying in circles making cargo art. I was hitting the J key constantly as I circle strafed roids. I wasn't cheating, I was enriching all of your lives.
