Mac sound bug: Revolution 7.1
A couple weeks ago when I used Vendetta (I think 1.0.6), the sound worked fine and I had no issues.
Now when I use Vendetta, the sound is no longer working. I'm using a revolution 7.1 sound card and I'm using MacOS X 10.3.5
Has anyone else seen this problem?

They're fixxoring the sound.
Cool. That's good to know. (Just a side note... The version that I tried when the sound worked was from September 23rd)
Well, that's strange.
What's a revolution 7.1 sound card?
The fixxoring we're doing will make people not crash. I'm not doing anything that would suddenly make your sound work again because I don't know why it stopped.
What does your errors.log file say towards the top? It should display info about the sound system and help determine why it's not working.
The errors.log file is located inside the Vendetta Online bundle.

My sound stopped working too, actually. Now it cuts out any time I turbo. Like I said in that other thread. Is that what you're talking about, goat?
Here's what I see in the errors.log says. I don't know if it helps.
"[Tue Oct 5 21:53:09 2004] Found driver: "Mac sound driver". Type 1, Version 7.1. Load @0x006090e0"

Is that all there is? It's supposed to print out statistics about the sound device.
Here is mine, for example:
deviceBufferSize = 32768
mSampleRate = 44100
mFormatFlags = 0000000B
mBytesPerPacket = 8
mFramesPerPacket = 1
mChannelsPerFrame = 2
mBytesPerFrame = 8
mBitsPerChannel = 32
It's a few lines after the 'found driver' message.

ahh, ok thanks. The
set kAudioDevicePropertyBufferFrameSize error 1852797029 bufsize=4096
error line is what I was after.
Hmm, also, it looks like it doesn't support the basic fomat VO uses, or we're not properly telling the hardware what format we want.

Unreal Tournament 2004 used to have a similar bug with this sound card, but it was patched back in June.
Would you be able to help me test my new mac sound code?
Email me.
It's sort-of an involved process, so I hope you're computer-savvy.

Sure, I'll help out. I'll e-mail you.
Something odd... I hear snippets of game sfx while in station or logging in, essentially sounds I shouldn't hear at those times.
they range from the wheel-of-death to the basic boost-tap sound. I even hear weapons fire every now and then.
This occurs on both my macs.
10.2.8
800mhz G4 iMac
and iBook G4, 1.2 Ghz. (10.3.5)

Yeah it's freaky, you are not alone. Its been that way since the new sound system was introduced.
