GB Lan (wireless disabled)

Problem description:
Upon Vendetta start, loading window appears with 'enabled OpebGL Reference' message and 'Loading textures', with two asterisks ('**'). Display then hangs.

Can ssh into machine, so not dead. Most likely dodgy video driver, with thanks to ATI.

Enemy Territory works OK, as does Unreal Tournament 2004.

I have the same problem here. Recently moved to Debian from SuSE 10.0, on which it seemed to work fine (although did not try with the latest update), so suspect it may indeed be a driver issue of some kind. Also noticed (via SSH) that XFree86 is using 60-70% of the CPU during this lockup.
