While prospecting in a roid field full of A3's i got killed. The mission stays active, like it says it would if you log off BUT there is no way i can get another scanner to finish the mission.

They gave you the scanner _for free_ and you just lost it ... bad bad Omega. Those things are expensive. Do you really expect them to give you another one?

But seriously I don't think that's a bug more like a risk factor for the mission.

Though it'd be nice if there was a way to get a replacement scanner ... but either it should cost something or be combined with a slight faction hit.

Allowing scanners to be purchaseable at the station would solve this issue as well as the issue of having to have an empty weapon slot before you take the mission.
