i respawned in system 3, but the last time i homed somewhere else and im now sick of flying back and get shot by nonehostile defbots...

The radar blips are based on the target's relation with your nation, not on your relation with that blip. For example, if I am hated by the blue nation, and BobNobody, an Itani pilot, is not hated by my nation, then he will show up as green on my radar, but I will show up as red on his radar.
Defbots are not hated by any nation, so they will always show up green.

well, that's a design flaw then.
Yeah, we've had internal discussions about the problem but haven't come up with a very good way to signify whether the person is friendly or hostile to you.
I don't really see what's wrong with the old way. I think what's more important is your pilot's personal safety, not the general alliance between your nation and factions or other nations.
aye. I agreee with Arolte on this
the safety of the pilot is the most important here

hmm i had a good idea (i thought) but it didnt pan out so i deleted it.
I think any other player should be considered hostile (perhaps with the exception of buddies)... Only non-hostile defbots should be green... that'll suit my style of play anyway ;-) It does my head in not being able to target an NT with "target nearest" even though I want to waste them...
A combination of Arolt's and Icarus' ideas is the way to go, imo. All players and bots that are not of your nation should be red. Your defbots and fellow nationals should turn red if your faction standing with your home nation falls to dislike or below. All defbots should persue you if your faction standing with that entity falls to dislike or below.
"Buddies" should make all your buddies' radar returns yellow and show up on radar (in sector) no matter the distance (like "Group" and white).

How about a two-colored dots -> (o), with center being colored depending on your personal standing to target's faction, while outer ring being colored depending on target's standing with your own faction?
Or vice versa, it doesn't really matter, as long as it's consistent. :)

Icarus, use the <g> key and target away. Adjust.
I prefer it this way. I am on good terms with both Itani and NT, why should I show up (on radar) as an enemy when I have worked hard to achieve some level of trust and good will with each of the various nations? On the other hand, If I am attacked by a member of a friendly nation, their blip should turn red on my screen and I should be able to defend myself with impunity.
