looking at this it seems that For Itani players, the game will spawn a few serco Centurions that can be fought.
However, for Serco players, this doesn't happen.. whats the magic word, the handshake or so that means I can get to complete my mission?

I'm guessing whether bots are spawned or not has to do with the total number of other players on the other nation. If there are enough itani, no bots are spawned. If there aren't any, bots are spawned.

doesnt add up, I was there when the only itani online was IRC, still no bots.

Yeah Spell and I tested this to death yesterday (literaly) and bots will never show up for a Serco, but the second an Itani accepts a mission bots will appear in the sector. So the only thing you can do (as a Serco) is to kill 3 Itani players. Where an Itani has the option to kill either 3 Serco players or 3 Serco bots (or any combination of the 2) It does not matter how many Serco are online/have accepted a border patrol mission, there will always be bots there (and they are very good at kill stealing so watch out)

And the bots will stick around after the Itani finishes the mission for an unknown ammout of time. Again this is what Spell and I observed not what may actualy happen or what is intended to happen.

Hmm, it's supposed to be balanced for the two teams. (If there are more itani, it spawns serco bots. If there are more serco, it spawns itani bots.) Maybe it's losing track of how many serco and itani players are in the sector. Dunno, I'll look into it.

I think it also sends Itani to sector F-12, and Sercos to sector E-12.
Not too certain on this one though.

I've always been sent to Metana E-7..

bots now appear in serco border patrol though the mission text say Metana System it actually sent me to deneb

the bots aren't appearing anymore.

last night, I went on border patrol, and noticed that there was an itani bot on the userlist. however, I couldn't find it no matter how hard I tried.

(now I don't see any spawned bots at all)

Have you tried messaging the bots like we used to have to do with the Defbots when they went on perma-coffee break in 3.4.x?

my problem with border control was, that i was sent to Deneb System E-7
ich could go there but the only thing i found were a lot of Assault II and Assault III bots an a Storm Exit.
No matter how often i jumped in and out of E-7 i always found the bots an the storm exit

hmmmm, It appears that you managed to get a storm in the middle of your mission sector. :)

I tested it the other night and found a serco bot AND an itani bot in the sector.

i have a different problem
i was sent to Deneb System E-7 and when i arrived there, i don't got any new information, it just said: Proceed to Deneb System Sector E-7. You will be given further instruction upon arrival

so when i got there, nobody gave me new instructions. I have a Screenshot, if anybody is interested

Was this while the storm was there?

If so it's possible that the storm code was overriding the mission code.
Devs: Do the storms use the existing sector when they appear or does the server create an identical duplicate sector with a different identifier in order to allow for easier handling of the storm exit point?

You should have gotten a message to the extent of "Destroy any <serco/itani> you encounter.

BTW are you a Serco or an Itani? That will help diagnose the problem since the mission code must have a seperate branch for each nation.

Last time I took a border patrol mission, I got there and it was a storm and I was disconnected from server and when I reconnected, the mission was still going but no bots showed up for me to kill. A warpout/warpin did not solve this problem.
