radar blip colors
<quote>
player radar blip colors determined by faction standing instead of team now.
</quote>
All my enemys apear as a green dots on my radar. And i got told that im marked red.
Lin(NT) noticed it, she saw me as a red dot while i (AgY(NT)) saw her as a green dot. This was in Odia M-14.
We both have a good Corvus standing, but my nt standing is down to -999.
I also saw some itanis as green dots, but my itani standing is -1000.
Same with serco but my standing there isnt that bad (only -491).

It's based on nation standing (as far as i can tell)
I show up as red for all Serco because I'm kill on sight.
For NT and Itani I'm green because I'm respected/admired.
As for you showing up as red for NTs... it makes sense based on the system, but maybe should be changed.

Well if im red for them, then they should also be red for me.
If you are Hated (-600) or below for a nation, you will be RED for that nation's players.
If you are Disliked (-200) or above for a nation, you will be GREEN for that nation's players.
AgY: You are Green to Serco, Red to NT, Red to Itani.

Just fyi, the levels are this:
Kill on Sight : -999
Hated : -998 to -601
Disliked : -600 to -201
Neutral : -200 to 200
Liked: 201 to 600
Admired : 601 to 998
Loved : 999
Not sure about the name of Loved. I've never been higher than admired, so it might be called something different now.

Heh.. only serco defbots are green for me so far ;)
Right now green/red color is taken from your stainding with that particular player nation, but I agree it should be changed:
If let say Agy meet me in corvus and kills me there no Itani/Serco/NT hit he recives.. The only fraction hit he MIGHT get might be corvus (so his color should be determined due to his standing with corvus)

I met another Itani player in a Serco system (I'm Itani), and he/she saw me as a red blip. I was hated, he/she was neutral. I saw them as a green dot.
Also, I got waxed by an NT def bot. It was a green dot on my radar, then it shot and killed me. I'm -1000 with NT

Yea, might be a good idea to set defbots to hate with other factions...
Here are some ideas, which represent my understanding of good standing calculations.
a simple solution:
PlayerA/PlayerB/Color
+/+/green
-/+/red
+/-/red
-/-/orange?
And a better way todo this:
.. is to multiply the standings.
Here is a small calculation example:
PlayerA * PlayerB
1000 * 800 = 800000
500 * 100 = 50000
100 * 0 = 0
1000 * -750 = -750000
500 * -500 = -250000
100 * 0 = 0
-1000 * 800 = -800000
-500 * 700 = -350000
-100 * 20 = -2000
-1000 * -500 = 500000
-500 * -400 = 200000
-100 * -30 = 3000
This gives you an awnser on the question "How high is the possibility that this player will attack me?" (based on his standing).
1000000: 500000 = low
500000 :- 500000 = unknown/medium
-500000 :-1000000 = high
Those calcs assume that two players with the same bad standing like each other, this is in fact mostly true.
To alter the results to 'they dislike each other'. Just force -*- to be negative.
But standing here and calc there, you might run into problems if you enable firendly fire.
Fixing the ff issue whould be a fair standing compensation if someone kills one of his mates.
