Access to Ships
Right after the update I asked a1k0n if the skill levels changed in any way. He said that as far as he knew it didn't. But the way some of the faction standings work did. So anyway, the reason I asked is because I no longer have access to some of the ships I did before the update. The Serco Prometheus used to be purchaseable for me at the two Serco capital stations (up to a version Mk III). Now it isn't. And I'm +999 with my nation. My skill ratings are still the same, at 9/9/9/10. So now I'm confused. What happened to my special ships?

Yep, the requirements had been a little too low, due to a system I had put in place but hadn't finished tweaking yet. The license requirements are now 10,10,10,6 for a standard Prometheus. A Valkyrie is 12,9,0,0, and the Marauder is 6,0,0,10. Variants on the three ships do, of course, require higher license levels.
Also, in general, you'll find that if you're disliked at a station, much less equipment will be available to you. (this will vary from nation to nation - Orion Heavy Manufacturing is much less forgiving in this respect than, say, Valent Robotics.)

Is there any diffrence when you are loved +601 and +999 ? (IMVHO should be)
That's something I'd like to push a little farther, but yes. Where a standing of +600 may suffice for buying a ship at a Valent station, you may need +700 to buy the same ship from Orion. The faction standing requirements, license requirements, and price all vary from faction to faction.
Would it be possible to display the ships you could purchase with higher levels/standing in the buy ship menu? The purchase button could be greyed out, and a coloured level requirement display added. So if i have levels 9/10/7/3, and a vulture MkIII requires 10/8/0/0, the 8 and two 0's would be green, but the 10 would be red...

I agree, simondearsley. When you walk into a car dealer they don't look at how much you can afford and hide the cars that are too expensive for you. You can still look at 'em. I think getting a preview of what ships you'll be able to buy later on will help you determine which factions you'd want to be friends with. It gives you something to look forward to when you're botting and trading all those hours to earn their respect.
