I have been playing Vendetta for about a month for all that time I have been seeing black ships (black valks, black Vults, etc) But I have gone to rogue lazers site and I have been looking at the pics and 'lo and behold all the ships in the pics are colors. So is the station in one of those pics. Whats up with this? Is it my graphics card or something?
Also I am using a Mac with OS X. Its a Special Edition DV Graphite iMac

Go into Options->Video->Rage 128 hack (I think) and set it to On.
It should be the last setting. You may need to scroll down to see it.
Please tell me if this fixes the problem.

You know, the Rage 128 hack doesn't break any graphics for those who don't have trouble. In fact it has no effect on my system. No visible anamolies or messed up colors. So I've been thinking, since it doesn't do anything on people who don't need it, why not just permanently implement it as a fix? Just a thought.

It made my engine flame look... fuller or something...

because theoretically it is slower. It requires 2 passes to render the color instead of just 1. Also it doesn't look exactly the same. There is a slight mathematical difference between the two methods.
