issue with my setup
Heyo so im on my desktop. running wayland but the game still runs in X im pretty sure based off taskbar icon.
the game launches but there are 2 major issues.
1. the game will not fullscreen or adapt its resolution even if window is resized. 2. there is no audio or mid input.
i have tried with both opengl & vulkan. i have tried alt+enter & f11.
for audio i only have asla so not much i can change there, wont give audio over headset nor speakers & wont hear my mic.
Let me know if there are some other tricks i should try.
Id love to post some system info, but i dont know what i should and if i send everything: wayland info, x info, vulkan info, opengl info. its over 440k char long so ill wait for someone to ask for something specific first.

We don't have native Wayland support yet. It is on the roadmap, but we're buried in a lot of other development right now, and it's probably not going to appear in the immediate future. We have made changes to try and make the existing X11 implementation as compatible as possible.
Have you tried playing the game in a window, but just internally going into the game's Options -> Advanced -> Video and changing the resolution to match, or be slightly smaller than, your actual desktop resolution?
I would leave it in "Window" mode, we've found that "Full Screen" on Wayland is not really as functional as we would like.
From what we've seen, the X11 support on Wayland is.. a mixed bag. Honestly, even direct Vulkan support on Wayland is a bit problematic, as evidenced by the "difficult" public conversations between Valve's Linux team and some of the Wayland developers over the last couple of years.
We've been hoping the whole.. situation would stabilize, before we come back and do an implementation, because we don't really have the development resources to constantly be iterating on Wayland stuff as standards shift around, or best-practices evolve.
As for your audio, if you go into Options -> Advanced -> Audio can you see what driver is currently selected? It may not be detecting your setup correctly.

its detecting asla perfectly fine. just not doing anything with it. Should just grab the pipwire library im pretty sure. Never had an issue with it b4.
as for fullscreen vs window. the issue is that the window wont capture my cursor so it kinda just wanders outside the window. It would be ok for some strategy game or whatever, but not this haha.
Makes since sense wayland maturity is still up in the air.
The current solution is just to have a second user setup on the pc and have that user session be entirely X. Kinda a mess but  not much can be done i guess.
If any updates are made to improve support for wayland let me know so i dont have to keep doing my silly workaround.

So, just to give us a testing basis:
- What Linux distribution and version are you running?
- What GPU and driver set?
- What kind of audio chipset, driver?
- What kernel version?

debian 13 kernel 6.12
rx570 with the generic amdgpu driver thats in the kernel already. As for this as an audio device, i have it disabled so it wont be an output option. opengl is: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 25.0.7-2+deb13u1. vulkan is: mesa 25.0.7-2
Intel Corporation 800 Series ACE, with asla Version k6.12.111+deb13-amd64.

I'm confused. What is the ALSA supposed to be connecting to? Is there a functional audio device on the system? How is the game supposed to make sound?

Sorry for the confusion. the rx570 is my gpu. it has its own audio device listed since it has hdmi.
If i leave it enabled, it dont do anything since my monitor dont have speakers, however it being enabled will make my computer think that there are 2 valid outputs and gives me a volume slider for both. I dont know why this happens since im using the display port on my gpu any ways. Disabling this as an audio device will get rid if the useless volume slider.
the ACE chipset is what handles the sterio output in the back aswell as my front 3.5mm jack. I have this set as the only enabled line out. Note the ace chipset also handles the line in for mic, however i use a usb mic so its unused.
