Okay, so, this started happening about 2 days ago, I'm not sure why it does this, but everytime I enter a turret the exit notification never goes away until I leave the turret. Then the bug repeats itself whenever I enter the turret again.

Thanks for the report. Was this reproduced without any plugins loaded in a "clean" client?

Yes, this pilot doesn't have plugins (its Tommy Lee Jones on discord/game, i've been talking with him for a bit)

So, as far as we can tell, this message is not supposed to fade out, and was changed to not fade out back in 2014.

There are some cases where it might fade out, like if you switch into a turret right after launching from a station or some such.

This is just based on code examination, not testing. So, if there's some certainty of a problem here, let us know, I guess?

Yes, I do have a problem with this. It's a large notification that blocks half my screen, and is very distracting. I don't know why you would make it work this way. It ruined 15 minutes of footage that I recorded, because the notification sticks out like a sore thumb. Please fix this, players do not need to be reminded how to exit a turret. Its the most obvious thing to figure out.

Well, we changed that because a bunch of people would get into turrets and then "forget" how to leave the turret.

It's nice that you have an opinion, but if you're going to be arrogant and rude, please stop posting on my forums? That isn't acceptable here.

I'm not against having some kind of custom option, where people can explicitly decide to remove it (there might actually be a UI option already? have you looked?).

But, we did make this the default for a reason. It used to fade out, and then it was objectively a problem.

As a final note on this, there was already an option to remove the "Press the Activate key to leave the turret" message, in Options, Advanced, Interface, HUD: labeled 'Show Help msg in HUD'

This option has been present for many years.
