A bug...or not

Collecting crates making this bump noise, is that part of the new features from the latest patch?

Thanks for the report. It was an unintended side-effect of some recent modifications and improvements to the cargo-crate tractor beam system. It'll be fixed in the next release.

This is fixed in the latest update. 1.8.708:

- Fixed issue with collision sound effect being played when picking up
cargo in space.

Oh, terrible sound, thank you! :)

I think it is still not working properly. Although only the correct sound effect is now used, it tends to be repeated infinitely. This happens when I fly over a stack of items with a total cubic count higher than the remaining ship capacity. The ship picks up items to reach its limit, but while I remain there, I continue to receive repeated full cargo messages along with repeated loading sounds.

Last tested yesterday: Bractus C-5, Behemoth XC, various cargo.

Does this happen every time or only occasionally?

IDK if "every time", but at least regularly. It involved SSS stock being larger than the XC capacity.

Not having as much SSS on hand now, I tested 250 cu of Aquean Ore a few minutes ago in M-14. The original phenomenon did not occur. The XC loaded 200 cu, and I got the proper sound *once* and the message. When I tried turning the ship in various directions before leaving the spot, the problem did not occur as it did before. When I left the spot and returned, only the message appeared without the sound. So, everything is as expected.

The day I reported it, the strangest thing was that the cargo pick-up sound kept repeating until I left the spot. I am not sure if it required turning or micro-movement of the ship.

I can retest later when I have more SSS available. Perhaps it is related to multi-cu items, to SSS specifically, or it might be also fixed now.
