This started yesterday for me. A couple other people on discord were describing having the issue too. I don't think we're using the same platform, but I'm on Windows 10.

Potentially related to plugings breaking stuff.

Bypassing the updater should resolve your issue.

Plugins shouldn't affect the updater since they aren't even loaded yet.

I have this issue too. Windows 11. Bypassing the updater does not resolve the issue. I get a lua error before the interface is loaded, which immediately crashes the game. I don't remember the exact error, I'll post it here when this bug pops up next.

The bug reported here is the updater downloading 300MB every time the game is run. If you're bypassing the updater, you're not having the same problem at all, as it cannot then download 300MB.

Please post different Bugs into different threads.

This should now be resolved, there was an individual patch server that had a problem, and we tracked it down. It would only have impacted people in a particular set of geographical regions, hence why it was only happening for some people.

If there are other problems related to starting the game, or lua errors, or whatever, please post those in another thread.
