Unable to launch a second client
I am unable to launch a second VO client. Clicking play after the launcher is ready results in the following error:
This happens only with the Vulkan driver.
PC specs :
i5 8300H
GTX 1050
16 GB Memory
Installed on a NVME SSD
Nvidia drivers are up to date

why do u need 2 alts?
Edit: I'm not using any plugins, and have a skin active if that helps.
Running multiple concurrent clients is not something we explicitly or intentionally support, so this isn't a "bug", per-se. But, we'll take a look when we can.
Can you send or post the vulkaninfo.log file that's in the Vendetta Online install folder? That should have more info to help explain what happened.
Also, what version of Windows?

My bad, wasn't aware it isn't supported.

This is the vulkan log. The [05/07/22 17:59:59] stamp was when I launched a second client. Not sure what the out of memory is for, but I have 1.5/4 GB VRAM, and 8/16GB RAM used roughly. Game is running at 1440p@60hz.

FWIW, we haven't been able to reproduce this. On our W10 and W11 machines, the Vulkan client can run multiple instances.
Weird, I would go back to Dx11 but it capped my refresh rate to 30hz and I was experiencing a lot of FPS drops. I'll make separate posts about this, as I earlier felt my GPU was struggling, but I now feel the games not playing well with my hardware anymore.
Any hint as to what might be causing the out of memory error?

For the record i would say check gpu drivers and make sure your up to date with them. If you are still getting problems i would probably say do a clean install of a older version of said gpu drivers (amd or nvidia drivers). If on a laptop i would also check the game is using the gpu (nvidia or amd) and not the intergrated iGPU (the bad gpu thats built into the cpu).
Also i would copy paste the vo installed folder and run that copy exe.

on windows, VO runs out of the directory listed in the registry, so making a folder copy doesn't actually work...
I can find that registry key later if you're interested. But, to run VO out of different folders on windows, I *think* you'd have to open one instance, change the key, then run the next instance, and this wouldn't solve Aryko's issue anyways...

I've tried clean driver installs but it didn't work. VO is behaving weird on that system anyway, I'm getting terrible fps drops near stations(goes to sub 60 from capped 120). That hardware is not old enough to cause this. I might try a windows reset or reinstall, if it doesn't work I'll make another bug post.
Have you tried just renaming your config.ini and wgaf.cfg in the VO directory (or copy them somewhere else, and delete them from that directory), and let the game re-generate on startup?
You might have some setting turned on that's not really compatible with your system.

I too have the same issue.
The Vulkan driver is not allowing two clients to run when used. I can however have one client with DirectX11 driver and another with the Vulkan driver running. eg. Startup a client with Vulkan driver, change it to DirectX11 then startup another which will open as Vulkan.
It's important to note that the client only saves the driver type on close of the client.

The reason I went for the Vulkan driver in the first place was for border-less windowed mode, which the other drivers don't seem to provide. Having a multi-monitor setup, it would be nice to play the game with multiple clients, border-less windowed mode, one on each screen.
I also tried removing the config.ini and wgaf.cfg files as suggested but it didn't help.
This is with Windows 11. Happy to help with any other testing if required.

fyi, while the game doesn't use that "windowed fullscreen" in the DirectX driver modes, you can force it using a tool like this. I've been using that for a good while, myself.
Anyways, please provide some more information about your system specifics, because the devs haven't been able to reproduce this issue locally, nor is it explicitly supposed to be a supported feature anyways...
I just tested on my own system, same issue if I run vulcan (but I don't normally anyways, so its never bothered me)
Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
nvidia 1070ti
16gb ram
game installed outside of write-protected program files directory

For further information, my specs are:
Win11 Pro
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
64GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
A guild mate is using Win10 and can run 2 x clients using Vulkan drivers. He shared a screenshot confirming it.
Doesn't matter too much. I understand you have to put a line in the sand on what you will and will not support. Knowing I can get two or more clients working with other drivers will do.

Fyi it worked on my system luxen. So maybe a quirk of my system lol.
U can also run vo using the neucluscoop launcher and dedicate k+m to each instance quite easy. Lets way easier control over 2 alts using just keyboard controls

Seems very inconsistent, my desktop with a 3060ti and win 10 runs multiple clients in vulkan.
