Jumpiness when turning
Every once in a while, whenevr I am in combat mostly, I can't turn my ship. The screen just locks forward, btu the ship still attempts to go forward, but I move my mouse when it stops moving, nothing happens, then all of the sudden it just moves. I'm not sure if it's a ping problem or not.
Avg ping = 190
Max ping = 1800
Oh yea I have a 2.16 GHZ processor.. It shouldn't be that but if it is, lemme know.

What kind of video card?
Perhaps you accidentally turned off mouselook (semicolon ";" )? It happens to me occasionally when I hastily switch between physics (for rails) and arcade (for rockets). Just a possibility.
I get this under Windows occasionally, and I've never been able to explain it. Drives me nuts.
This sounds very familiar to my oft-complained-about "keyboard freezes", where the keyboard and mouse freeze for no reason when moving. It always seems to happen RIGHT as I'm coming in for an attack run on the Frigate...
Heh, I sometimes get it: you get out of the station...but can't move. So, you: goto the menu, get out and it works (I think...)
I think it might have something to do with the way Vendetta loads objects into ram/video ram. I'll notice it does this occasionally on nVidia cards a bit more than ATI's. when you log into a sector you'll apparently load whatever you're immediately looking at, and then if you do a 360 degree turn, you'll notice small pauses as the system loads the additional objects/textures or whatever. I'm not a programmer, but that's what it seems like it's doing to me. For me, once I've looked around at everything in the sector, it wont make those little pauses anymore...
I'm seeing this ("stalls" / lockups, when turning), mainly around s5 station (circling around it a few times) (not the outpost).
Framerate is variable, but even when it "snaps" and "stalls" its at 24fps or so, which shouldn't be doing that.
Linux (2.6.2)
Nvidia binary drivers
GeForce 4 MX (64 Mb)
AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2500+
