Gamepad binds not “sticking”
iOS 12.1.4, newest iPad 9.7 (not a Pro), Bluetooth v4.1 steelseries Nimbus gamepad, no keyboard
Certain gamepad binds will not “stick,” specifically the D-pad settings. And by that, I mean they periodically revert to default.
Will post more info as I collect it. It’s not just on restarting the app though. Seems to occur at random intervals. Will test further.
Edit:
A+B bind also not sticking.
And they all reset when my gamepad goes to sleep. Not immediately, but upon awakening.
Edit:
And if the app or iPad is restarted, even if the gamepad stays awake.
Also, other binds I’ve set do stick. Specifically: the other chord binds, and I swapped the two sticks.
Calibration is also being saved properly.

Interesting. Have you tried setting the binds, and then exiting the game?
Some settings may not be written out until the game exits, and if your device is re-initialized during a given runtime (times out, and then re-connects), it may revert those controls to default.
Obviously, we need to fix this regardless, but configuring the gamepad and then exiting and re-running may be a short-term work around.

Exit the game? In iOS? How? I can go back to log in screen and then switch to another app. But if I close the app or restart the iPad, the changes are lost as well. There is no explicit “exit the game” that I’m aware of.
Btw, I am binding via the gamepad screen. Have not tried the /bind command yet. I will, and will let you know if that changes things.
I’m also considering getting a Bluetooth keyboard... and that again may change things.

Okay, well, I didn't realize it was iOS in my original response. It seems like your first post is more detailed, now. Anyway, there is no in-app way to quit the iOS version, because Apple considers a Quit button to be a reason to fail app store approval.
Anyway, thanks for the report, we'll check into it.

(Enters with latex glove on head, styrofoam cup over mouth, hands in armpits, walking like a chicken) Buk Buk BUKKAH!!!
I am having the same issue with the same controller. I have to resetup my controller every time I want to play. A bit of an annoyance and I don’t like thinking that much. Lol. Would be awesome if this could be fixed.
Thank you,

Addendum:
Changes to A, B, X, Y also do not stick.
Basically no changes on the gamepad screen stick besides 2 chord binds. Changes made on the calibration screen do stick however. Using /bind instead doesn’t make anything stick either.
EDIT: The two chord binds (XY and BY) that stick on the Gamepad screen are unbound when you first install the game... but are bound when you revert to defaults. If that tells you anything.
