Vendetta VR auto rotate gamepad
Hi all,
I have an issue with the Gear VR game. I have connected my Bluetooth Steel Series gamepad. As soon the game loads the ship keeps automatically rotating. I can't stop it. Anyone else has this issue?

I did see something on the forums about the Steel Series having flakey shoulder buttons, and as these are bound to roll by default, this would describe your problem.
I do not know if the new settings for the controllers are in the VR version, but if they are, look under options > controls > calibration and try increase the dead zones. If not my only suggestion would be to unbind the shoulder that is affected. (for now, at least - set it to NONE in the gamepad menu)

Can't find it so quickly.
It's the only game I have problems using this joystick

It is the controller; Vendetta just happens to be one of the most sensitive games in Gear VR's library. You will notice it eventually in some other games as well that have default settings bound to the shoulder button. The sensitivity in Vendetta is more or less required as it's a twitch combat game.
I use a GameSir G4s, and it's not nearly accurate enough for my liking; I've recently been using the "look to steer" option under VR options and have had some success.
Increasing the dead zone is your best bet. I'm at work and don't recall the exact path, but try Options -> Advanced... and hopefully you will find it from there.

Part of the issue is that we also use the triggers for their true intended capability.. Real analog input, and not just as a "button" (off or on) like most games. So, in VO you can lightly depress the shoulder trigger and rotate more slowly than pressing it hard.
We can try expanding the default shoulder dead zones (again), but we've already done that to mitigate this issue, and at some point we're harming all the people with working controllers, to help a few people with broken ones.
It's challenging to detect as well, as it just looks like a trigger actuation.
Anyway, we'll continue to look at the issue.

To be honest Incarnate, I use a controller a lot and do use the shoulders for roll. I never need to be _that_ precise with them that I would notice a dead zone of about 20%. I never need to do a slow roll, except for maybe to align with a dock and even then I'm probably pressing the trigger to about 50%.
As long as it can be reduced later, for people who need more control, I do not think having an overly high default dead zone on the triggers would harm anybody. Let us face it, in combat it is usually a full roll, or not a roll at all.

Yoda, but then if someone sets something other than roll to those triggers?
Luxen, you have a good point of course, but with the menu you can only bind the triggers to certain things, like Axis. Speed, Turn, Pitch, Roll and Strafes are about it that require any analogue input (and even then the rest can require 50% to a full press to trigger anyway, like shoots); and if you are at the plugin stage, you should know how to go into the options and change the dead zone.
I guess this is more about the new UX, and people who are comfortable enough to change such settings will be able to find the dead zone settings too. As long as the default dead zone can be reduced for advanced users, it really is a none-issue. Yah yah, I get it, you should not penalise people just because some have flakey devices, but when only a few play anyway...
