Ship disappearing (still broken)

Nowadays, if you close VO (forcefully) or remove the connection, you idle for ~30-60 seconds around. After this, its intended that you respawn as npc ship for a longer duration. This isnt happening.
If someone dc's this way, you can shoot him and you can kill him (before removing ship due to timeout, server makes him explode). If you dont kill him, he just vanishes. This is an abuse of the logout countdown idea and should be fixed (like it was once said in the update).
