FPS hit in 3.3.10

Arolte: I took about a 30% framerate hit myself with this version. Unless the reset reset my graphics settings, I'm still running what I was before. I'm down from about 100fps to about 70fps. I'm not sure why, and I didn't get to test it extensively to see whether it was just newer sectors or the game in general but as a first impression it was everywhere.

On the good side, the lag seemed to be about 20% better, and the worst of the latency bugs seemed to have disappeared, but I'm still not back down to my rates of 3 or 4 updates ago.

I used to get better framerates in the previous version. Now Vendetta gets all choppy near stations again, with the same settings as before. Anyone else having performance issues with the update?

Nobody else is having FPS issues? At all? I seemed to recall some people complaining about it last night right after the update. Hmmm...

I took a 5-10 FPS hit but its not a problem really. I do notice some choppiness every once in awhile seemingly random tho. Its like the server is having lag spikes

Here are my results...

s5 (3.9.9) = 45-50 FPS
s5 (3.9.10) = 25-30 FPS

s14 (3.9.9) = 53-60 FPS
s14 (3.9.10) = 21-28 FPS

Ouch. Stations are killing my FPS rates for some reason in this release. And s5 is now choppy when looking at the station closest to the wormholes. Honestly, I liked how s14 was before, with the new station. Why weren't some of the asteroids taken out instead of having the new station relocated to s5? Now s5 is choppier than before. And for some odd reason I'm still getting lower framerates in s14 than I did before the update. Arrrgh!

The reflective IceYo!'s hurt now. I used to get 130+ fps in sector 8, now I'm down to 80 or 90 fps. Now, that's still a lot compared to my 40fps in sector 5, but it's a big drop. And I'm on Linux, so I don't even see the reflectivity! I think the spectacular shaders or something must be broken.

My graphics settings are the same as the previous version. I just don't understand why my framerates took a dive near stations when they were fine in the previous version. I didn't increase the texture quality or anything.

Arolte, Are your graphics detail settings turned down? If not, try changing them to see if you can increase your framerate.

Rogue: ice rendering has not changed at all for a very long time.
