I found it. The server will crash one more time, then it should be fixed.

What Steve (HumpythePenguin) was doing as far as I know was typing ^^ as a message in sector chat.

The ^ in sector chat thing is definitely not a server crash. Ray's got that fixed for the next client release (due monday with a high probability).

I did see that when you select your character, your score/bounty/money isn't updated properly initially but I think I fixed that and will be in the next client update.

Ray, the character select menu shows you having more money than you actually have if you spend money, restart the client without disconnecting (before the one-minute timeout), and log back in.

The character select menu shows you your characters before they've been saved; once you select a character, it waits for the sector to finish saving the character before handing that character to the new client connection.
