Proc mines do not explode in proximity of NPC capships
Noticed this interesting bug while fooling around with JAKP around Itani Ukari A-10 blockade connie today.
JAKP was able to stack a big pile of proc mines like 10 m away from connie dock.
In reality of VO game mechanics mines should have exploded the moment they were deployed because of their proximity fuse but they did not.

If I remember correctly, the prox fuze is not triggered until the distance increases. So, that way, the enemy gets as close as possible, and the mine does as much damage as possible; it triggers prox-awareness when they enter the range, and then explodes when the range starts to increase again.
So, in this case, laying the mine wouldn't be enough. The nearby target would need to start moving?
But, there might be an unrelated issue with NPCs not triggering mines?

NPC's definatly trigger mines, that's how we farm law guns. Are the blockade cap ships shielded? Might be a shield issue. Maybe you should someone drop a pile of mines on your capship Bojan? You could keep it still so we could see if Incarnate is correct about movement being a trigger also.
(I have no reason to doubt this, while playing with concapults back in the BLAK days, I'm sure we noticed similar behaviour)

If movement in the proximity of a mine is a trigger and not just the proximity to enemy then all is explained.
In the description it only says detonation: proximity 70m.
It just strikes me as odd that you can drop a mine on top of enemy ship and this does not trigger proximity detonation - you have to wait for him to start moving to trigger the mine but it's good to know this now.

I wonder if ramming the capship would cause enough movement.

That explains why prox mines don't work so well at high speeds, actually. Their splash (80m) is small enough that the ship traveling away from them can get clear of a good portion of the blast before the mine goes off and the server does the hit-check. Especially if the enemy is not flying directly at the mine.
Do the mines look at the center point of the ship (or turret, in the case of capships) or do they look at the nearest point on the collision mesh? Tridents are ~210m long...
