No exp. for destroying ships from Turrets
It's been irritating me for a while. When you manage to destroy a bot from a turret, you don't get license points like you normally should get. So let's say I manage to destroy an Arklan from my Turrets with Cap Swarms, I don't get +300 Heavy like I would have if I did it with normal weapons.
Is this intended behaviour?

There's a reason for that. It's so people can't weapons license farm on bots while AFK in their trident heh.
If you built a trident you have earned the right to farm bots for XP, imo.

Lol, if you've built a trident, the only right you've earned is to have a trident. You don't get a medal for it.

If memory serves, killing bots from the turrets of NPC tridents used to give xp. It was particularly useful in ion storm skirmishes. Unsure if it ever did outside of a mission though. Player turret behavior should match NPC turret behavior.
It's so that noobs can't AFK farm weapons XP from somebody else's Trident.
The Ion Storm bonus is for Combat XP, which you still get for killing mission bots. Player turret behavior does match NPC turret behavior at the moment, though I seem to remember the turrets on Deneb skirmish capships giving light weapons XP a really long time ago. (When Deneb first started giving weapons XP)

When I first started, I got XP from using the turret weapons in Deneb skirms. I think that's part of the reason so many new/mobile players will camp in the Trident in small skirms.
It simply makes no sense that it doesn't give weapon XP. Who cares if some newbies farm XP with it in bot sectors. It adds to cooperation and gives newbies the initiative to ask a vet to lend his Trident.

For the same reason having other broken power-leveling around was a bad idea. As much fun as Border Patrol was, it just got abused.
