I was playing as TheBMan, a gold character and as I was in sector 12, I pressed the u key and I was listed as having a score and bounty of 0. After I killed a bot, the information was correct.
Later, I was looking for 150 bounty bots, and several of them were trapped in an asteroid. I also saw the bots in the asteroid yesterday.
