Yes, this is annoying as hell.
My problem with it is that asshats are lagging inside the roids and station and laying them in places where you can't shoot them.
I still agree with myself and believe the guards and turrets should NOT shoot them. Its bad enough every other stupid bot in the galaxy goes mine-crazy.

and I quote "PS: Just shoot the darn mines."
Having the guards and turrets shoot the mines was the only solution I could think of. If you can think of another, I'm all ears.

Simple: Cause docking to despawn mines.
Question: Can one mine a CS, then dock, and switch ships, and have the mines remain?

Then fun things like concapulting and laying minefields with player trident support would end Savet.
And yes, as long as the person who laid the mine is in sector the mine remains regardless of what he's flying.

The long-term solution then would be IFF as suggested above.
I realize my above suggestion would end a few situational amusements...perhaps only docking with an actual station could make them despawn, but capships could remain unaffected.

The only problem here is that people can put mines *inside* objects where neither players nor NPCs can shoot them...
Yes that is the problem.
I don't care how many they spawn, or if they dock, but if an Avalon comes screaming down on the station, why can't it destroy them? And they shouldn't be able to be placed inside objects' mesh. If they try, it should simply sick to the wall or object face. Imagine that, rotating roids with a lmine stuck ahaha.
That'd actually be pretty cool. :)
Make it so!
