CS station bug

I had an owners key to Pelatus C12 active and could dock with it but when I tried to /explode with C12 as my home (moving ships) I ended up in Dau instead - got a message that said I wasnt allowed to enter....

Working as intended. Players are no longer allowed to home with conq. stations due to exploits.

If you followed the same technique previously and you went right out into the sector at countdown, then timed your explode to be exact with the countdown timer, you could appear inside the station dock before everybody else because you were homed there and it would capture the station before anybody else could possibly do it.

This is the workaround as a consequence.

So, you cheating chumps exploited something and now nobody can home at conquerable stations at all, ever? Good Job!

+1 to OP. This is buggy and weird. If you can't home there, the game should say so when you try to set your home to the station, not when you expect to appear there then suddenly appear on the other side of the universe.

Am I missing something? It seems that all is needed to prevent the exploit indicated above is to redirect anyone attempting to spawn at the conq station during the countdown timer only. To remove the ability to home there altogether is just silly.

Homing there works but if you die and youre tempKOS or whatever with the station it boots you around. Either that or theres a no fire zone of some description.

You can definitely home at the conquerable station but if you hit a station guard it resets you like every other station.

Don't look at me you snide little punk, Westacular was the one using the bug.

No I wasnt Temp kos nor did I hit a gaurd or turret.
If you cant respawn at these stations then theres no point in homing there.
If thats the way the devs want it then they should simply remove the ability to home completely.

Otherwise this is in fact a bug.

It's not a bug so much as it's a bad implementation. Meridian has it right in both solutions. This smells like a quick fix to keep people from going militant over an exploit.

Wouldn't it just make more sense for it to change your home station once you lose access to the station? Station capture or key revocation alike.

Hmm, I thought it was supposed to be implemented as meridian suggests. So, we'll have to check it out.

Also, to make sure we see these reports/suggestions, please use the support ticket system.

Well I would rather the game not allow us to home at the stations at all if we cant spawn there But as ray said its only suppose to kick you if the countdown is running. Or perhaps a better trigger would be to kick players when ever the defenses are down. The ninja spawn would actually happen just as the timer expired so the results might be inconsistant.

Anyhow....
