This is the kind of thing that they'd leave out of the changelogs, mainly because fighting back is a natural state. It should make the newbie experience a lot better. And plus, we shouldn't know every single detail, makes exploiting the already broken faction system even easier, and more frustrating for the newbies.

So now I'm wondering how long we've all been arguing for/against adding a feature that was already a done thing.
Most of the types to attack people in monitored space already knew about the bounty thing. They don't fly around with bounties on their heads.

No kierky, that logic is broken. Whether or not it is safe for a person to defend himself is a very important detail for them to know. More generally, whether or not a person will suffer a penalty for a given action is a very important thing for them to know, and absolutely SHOULD be public knowledge.
