fire hit miss!

Oct 08, 2003 sector0 link
Well i am sometimes playing vendetta (not lately) but i am fighting someone and this usually happeneds when they are using lazers. They hit me dead on and it doesn't effect my health i am still 100% and that will happen continuously sometimes has anyone else have this happen to them?`

This is one of the little oddities of the engine. "Absorb spots". They're zones on each ship where no damage can be done. Weird, eh?

Or cool, the Valk has a big one right on its nose that has caused me to GAIN health when I ram another ship. :-D

The absorb spots have saved me quite a number of times against Valk gaussers. I hate the damn gauss gun. A fighter shouldn't have such a high aimbot weapon like that. Gah!

I survived two people insta-nuking me thanks to absorb spots!

/me dons a "Pro-absorb spot #475" button

woah... this is really weird... before I click this thread, I see this:

fire hit miss! sector0 2003-10-17 00:15:29 simondearsley

when I click the thread I discover that it's cembandit that posted last, not simondearsley

Really strange...

It's a glitch in the matrix, genka.

But seriously, I've had similar problems when accessing this forum on Safari. Even after clearing the cache, I notice that some of my own posts disappear. I'm not talking about a post that I recently made. I'm talking about every post that was ever made by "Arolte." Everyone else has their post completely intact. And after reloading the forum index, however, they somehow reappear again. Something funky is going on.

Mmmmhmmm, so I did NOT delete all those posts as accused, right? Thanks for pointing that out.

All I said was:

<cough cough>

I want my post back...

simondearsley:

1) Once deleted (or lost, or whatever happened), posts are gone and are not recoverable.

2) You have fully recreated your post.

3) Please do not post such things as they drag the thread off topic.

It occurs to me that the question was answered and that this thread is done anyway.
