I put a usb mouse on my Samsung galaxy Tab2 and started VO, it said I had a "joystick" attached and wouldnt use it? a mouse is a joystick?? running android version 4.0.4 btw

What did you see in the Joystick menu?
Were the X and Y axes listed?

Mouse input isn't officially supported by VO for Android. Android's API didn't allow for infinite mouse-look the last time we attempted mouse support.
