When you repair turrets and bump into 1 by mistake at a conq station you end up with a 15 minute kos as well, its seem a bit a extreme for hitting a turret you own
Simple quick fix no temp kos for owner key holders, and only have user key owners be the ones that can get a temp kos at all.

Better: create a "Watchman" privilege on keys, to go along with docking and iff. Players who have this option enabled would be able to dismiss any temp kos issued by the station to a keyholder. That way if a keyholder turns on you while you're away, he won't be able to attack with impunity, yet you'll still be able to clear up issues when your minions are repairing turrets after a defense run, without the need to grant them owner keys.
If we had tiered keys, that might be a useful addition, but as it stands there's only one owner key and one user key for any asset. Given those limitations, even having checkboxes for IFF and Docking doesn't make sense...

However, i like the temp kos on the stations because it prevents the defenders (even myself) from being cheap and popping a turret early to screw the attackers with respawns.

Yeah you could, except that half the time it was broken and would make another key when you didnt want it to or owners wouldn't see all of the user keys for their owner key, etc. Also that was back before you could delete keys, so things got *really* screwy...
removing the extra keys never fixed any of that it is still broken and requires tricks to get new keys to appear/work :P
Seems to me that the conq stations should not have temp KOS considering they don't have an NFZ. At a minimum I'd say they should not have temp KOS for bump damage to a turret or station guard (it's pretty annoying when a station guard just decides to run into you when you aren't even moving).
A better solution, I think, would be to only have temp KOS when you actually destroy a turret or station guard and not merely for damaging them.

They have temp-KOS to keep keyholders from being able to easily and safely kill off the station defenses and take over the station. The idea is if you're attacking the station defenses, you're trying to conquer it and they should attack you.
Temp-KOS at conquerable stations made sense when all you had to do was leave the sector and come back; now with the new 15 minute temp-KOS, not so much. One stray shot shouldn't penalize you for 15 minutes. And no one is going to destroy a turret through bump damage. Even if someone were crazy enough to try, the turret would likely shoot them while aiming at other hostiles in the area.
Aye - I accidentally got a station gaurd at I8 a few days ago and had the 15 minute temp KOS which effectively took me out of the battle.
usually if you die a tempkos resets. there is a bug where sometimes it doesn't, but dying a second or third time sometimes does reset it. fyi.
